MoneyGram's cash counters now connect to Solana
170+
countries and territories where Solana dollars can be collected as cash
For people who live on cash, the hard part of a digital dollar is not holding it. It is turning it back into notes somewhere near home. That last mile is what MoneyGram has: a retail network of nearly half a million locations and more than 60 million customers.
On 11 August 2026 MoneyGram made Ramps, its cash-to-crypto service, live on Solana, its second network after Stellar. Through a single API, a Solana app can let its users deposit cash in more than 25 countries and withdraw it in more than 170 countries and territories. MoneyGram had already started running a Solana validator in June.
A stablecoin balance is only useful to an unbanked household if there is a trusted place to cash it out. This puts one within reach of any Solana wallet that chooses to integrate it.
