A lender with 13 million emerging-market customers opened a credit line on Solana

$50M

credit facility opened on Solana

Tala lends to people in Kenya, the Philippines, Mexico and India who have no credit file a traditional bank would accept. It has 13 million customers and an underwriting model trained on roughly $7 billion of its own lending performance data.

In December 2025 it opened a $50 million USDC credit facility on Solana through Huma, routing capital to underbanked borrowers through onchain rails rather than a bank syndicate. It is one of the few cases where a lender of real scale, with a real book, has put emerging-market consumer credit onchain rather than announcing an intention to.
